A few months ago, my uncle posted a journal entry on a care page that he created to update family and friends about his journey with cancer treatments. One particular post has resonated with me.
He writes that his fraternity of oncology patients leave each treatment session with a simple saluation "have a good day." Not a nice day, but a good day! "Nice" is to be without conflict, while "good" is to secure a postive outcome; weather it involves conflict or not. Reality isn't always nice. Exhilaration is the result of being engaged and overcoming the conflicts...he goes on to tell how he is saddened by those he observes who have chosen to quit the game and even if their health improves, the vitality of their future will not.
Our professional devleopment day this Monday will be different than any other inservice day we've had in the past at ZPS. We will be invited to seek answers to our questions, to develop processes for finding answers, to collaborate with each other, and to learn along the way!
